ROCKPORT — A Camden teenager struck a series of potholes on a dirt road in Rockport Thursday afternoon and flipped the Jeep Liberty he was driving onto its roof. Unharmed, he was able to crawl out the window and called his father, who, in turn, called 911.

The crash occured just before 3 p.m., June 13, when Brooks Bumbalo, 16, lost control of his vehicle as he was turning onto Chapel Road from Beauchamp Point Road. Rockport Police Officer Craig Cooley attributed the accident to driver inexperience.

Bumbalo, who had been wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, got his driver's license three days prior, on June 10, said Cooley.

No one else was in the vehicle with him.

Rockport Fire Department and Camden First Aid Association responded to the crash. Camden Exxon hauled the Jeep away.
