Waldo County towns prepare for upcoming annual town meetings

    WALDO COUNTY — Several Waldo County towns have scheduled upcoming annual town meetings, and in one case announced there will be no annual town meeting this year. 

    Below is the complete rundown of upcoming annual town meetings that have been provided to Penobscot Bay Pilot.

    Belmont: July 13 at 6 p.m. at the fire station. Click here for the warrant

    Islesboro: Aug. 25

    Lincolnville: July 14 by referendum ballot during 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. polling period. Click here for the warrant and more information

    Northport: July 16 at 7 p.m. at the Drinkwater School. Click here for the warrant

    Searsmont: July 18 at 9 a.m. at the fire house. 

    Stockton Springs: July 18 at 9 a.m.; Registration at 8 a.m. Taking place in the town office parking lot via FM station to car radio. FM station number to be provided upon arrival. You will be given a wooden dowel with a voting card attached to the top. This dowel will serve as both a voting card and for use when you have a question regarding an Article item. When you have a question, simply roll down your window and stick your dowel up high. A volunteer, wearing a mask, will come to you with a microphone. The meeting should take less than an hour.

    Troy: The Board of Selectman decided June 3 to not hold an annual town meeting this year, and will instead operate off last year’s budget due to safety concerns. 

    Waldo: July 11, 9 a.m., Town Hall

    Winterport: July 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wagner Middle School Gymnasium. Detailed copies of the proposed budget may be viewed at the Winterport Post Office and Town Office. Copies of the proposed budget detail may be obtained at the Town Office during regular business hours.
