CAMDEN — In recognition of Ultraviolet Safety Month, Quarry Hill’s Awareness Series presents “Sun Smarts,” an educational event with a focus on UV exposure and protection, on Tuesday, July 2, at 1 p.m., at the Anderson Inn.

Summer sunshine reminds us that exposure is the root cause of most skin cancers, said Quarry Hill, in a news release. Dr. Bruce Hoekstra, of the Pen Bay Skin Center, will discuss how the skin changes with age, identify preventative measures one can take and stress the importance of early detection.

Quarry Hill’s Awareness Series is open to adults 50 plus and addresses a different health-related topic each month. Light refreshments will be served.

Admission is free, but advance registration is required. To sign up, please call Quarry Hill at 301-6116 or email qhinfo@mainehealth.org.
