AUGUSTA — Spectrum Generations recently kicked off its 50th anniversary celebration at its annual meeting with a Legislative Sentiment sponsored by Senator Matthew Pouliot, of Augusta, and co-sponsored by the delegation representing the six counties that the Area Agency on Aging and Disabilities Resource Center serves.

The sentiment reads: "Spectrum Generations, of Augusta, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary of serving older Mainers and adults with disabilities. Based in Augusta and serving Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Somerset and Waldo counties, Spectrum Generations is the Central Maine Area on Aging and Disability Resource Center and has been a leading provider of information and advice, referrals and activities for adults since 1972, facilitating informed decision-making and enabling older and disabled adults and their care partners to meaningfully participate in all aspects of life. We extend our congratulations and best wishes"

Gerard Queally, CEO and president of Spectrum Generations said, in a news release: "This year marks a major milestone for our organization, and for all Area Agencies on Aging around the country. I am incredibly proud of the work our staff and volunteers do to serve the central Maine community. These last few years have been especially difficult to navigate, but by working together, we were able to meet pandemic and other related challenges head-on, providing nearly uninterrupted services to the Mainers who depend on our services to live within their own homes with dignity. As we look to the future, our services will only become more critical as Maine's population ages, and I am confident that Spectrum Generations will continue to evolve and rise to the challenge."

Spectrum Generations' mission is to promote and advance the well-being and independence of older and disabled adults, with the support of their care partners, to live in their community of choice.
