LINCOLNVILLE - The race for the remainder of Lincolnville Selectman Cathy Hardy’s vacated seat on the Board of Selectmen came down to two of the three candidates on the ballot Tuesday, Nov. 8, with Rosendel “Rosey” Gerry garnering the most votes (634) against Josh Gerritsen (592).

The third candidate, Gina Sawyer, earned 173 votes on the ticket, and three write-in candidates, Joshua Treat, Debbie Fullington and Doris Weed, received one vote each.

Gerry, a former selectmen, said during his campaign that he had agreed to run for Hardy’s seat when town administrator Dave Kinney fell ill this fall and Hardy announced she was relocating out of the country. Now that he is elected, he will fill the open one-year term, November 2016 to June 2017, on the Lincolnville Board of Selectmen, Assessors and Overseers of the Poor.
