Results for Trekkers 5K – A Perfect Race Day

Fri, 06/07/2024 - 5:00pm

ROCKLAND — On June 2, students and adults gathered at 325 Old County Road to participate in the annual 5K to support Trekkers. The day was clear and sunny with a slight breeze, perfect for the 77 runners and walkers in the race.

The race started at 8:30 am, and the first across the finish line came in 16 minutes and 56 seconds later. The 5K is a fundraiser for Trekkers students, who sign up to race and gather pledges to go towards their student dues. This year we had 23 students participating. We also had two teams, one from Bangor Savings Bank and one from Seacoast Education Association. Once the race was over, racers and event volunteers enjoyed muffins graciously donated by Flipside Coffee as they gathered to hear announcements and prizes.

This community fundraising event is made possible by the support of local businesses. Special thanks for our sponsors: Central Maine Power, Naretiv, Adventure Advertising, Maine State Credit Union, Bay Chiropractic Center, Ocean Pursuits, Horch Roofing, Pen Bay Medical Center, The Grasshopper Shop, Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital, J. Edward Knight & Company, Fisher Engineering, Lyman-Morse, City + Harbor, Harbor Builders Associates, Rockport Steel, Mid-Knight Auto, Camden Hills Dentistry, O’Hara Corporation, Thomaston Family Dentistry, Rockland Savings Bank, Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, The Craignair Inn by the Sea, Maine Coast Orthodontics, Monhegan Boat Line, Maine Boats Homes & Harbors, Maritime Energy, Taxes Plus, Realty of Maine, GC Minery Plumbing & Heating, Maine Coast Construction, Viking Lumber & Building Supplies, Renys, Fabian Oil, The White Glove Experience, Ferraiolo Construction Co., Applewood Dental, Breakwater Design & Build, Machias Savings Bank, Edward Jones, Philbrook & Associates Bookkeeping and Business Services.
