The Oceanside golf team, the only golf team in the Midcoast that plays in Class A, hit the par 37 Rockland Golf Course Tuesday, Aug. 28, in their season opener against Gardiner with a vengeance defeating the Tigers 6-3.

Freshmen Nick Maxurek and junior Reilly Flanagan topped the leader board, both shooting a 4-over par 41 on the front nine for the medalist of the match.

Oceanside's top four aggregate score of 185 was good enough to beat Gardiner's 200.
