Midcoast Maine sees late October snowfall

    MIDCOAST — On the morning of Wednesday, October 24 Midcoast residents awoke to varying types of precipitation across the Midcoast and interior Knox, Waldo and Lincoln Counties. 

    In Union, a public service announcement posted on the town’s Facebook Page warned drivers about roads that were already icing, another post from the same town showed a photo taken from the window of a plow truck traveling over snow covered roads

    According to the National Weather Service, Knox County was expected to receive rain and snow Wednesday morning changing to mostly rain in the afternoon. With little to no accumulation forecast for Knox County. North winds are expected to blow at 15 to 20 mph. With gusts up to 35 mph this afternoon. The National Weather Service also forecast that there would be a chance of rain and snow during the evening with highs in the 30s. 

    Thursday, October 25 presents a mostly sunny forecast for Knox County with highs in the mid-40s according to the National Weather Service.
