Medomak’s Seventh Grade Baseball Team on the road to Damariscotta, Boothbay Harbor
Medomak Middle School's seventh grade baseball team was once again on the road May 14, this time to play Great Salt Bay's team in Damariscotta, in what turned out to be an entertaining and evenly matched game.
MMS had the lead 4-1 until the bottom of the their inning when GSB pushed across 5 runs via 5 hits and a walk. Medomak got 1 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th to even the score, but once again Great Salt Bay responded with 3 in the bottom half of the 6th to go back ahead. In the 7th, MMS got 2 plated but left the tying and go ahead runs on, which ended the game with a GSB victory 9-8.
Bradley Carlson pitched a complete game for the Riverhawk while the Cougars got work from Brody Day, Eric Nixon and Parker Starbird. Hitting for Medomak were Carlson with 3 hits and 2 runs; Cian Lally 2 doubles, a single and 2 runs; Garrett Simmons 2 hits; Riley Eaton hit, run; Jariden Fullerton hit, run; Aiden Beardsley hit, run; Sol Smith hit; Jacob McKellar hit; and Abel Thibodeau run.
For Great Salt Bay Starbird had a triple and a run; Jacob Tomasello double, run; Owen Melanson double, run; Wes Tisbert double, run; Day hit, run; Demetrius H. hit, run; Nixon run; Simon Drake run; Ry Raffta run; and Max Blake hit.
