Maine high school students invited to free online Inside Medicine Summer Program

Sat, 06/01/2024 - 5:00pm

The MaineHealth Center for Workforce Development, Maine Medical Center Department of Medical Education and Tufts University Medical Students are hosting a free, virtual, state-wide Inside Medicine Summer Program for high school students in July.

The sessions are open to all Maine high school students and will be held on the first four Mondays of the month (July 1, 8, 15 and 22) from 7 to 8:15 p.m. via Zoom. Registration is due by Friday, June 21.

The program provides an opportunity for students to explore the fascinating world of medicine from the inside and includes:

 Career exploration about the field of medicine in a virtual setting
 Learning basic skills and terminology related to careers in healthcare
 Connecting with other likeminded students in Maine
 Solving medical mystery cases with Tufts University medical students

Students who complete three out of the four sessions will receive a certificate of participation from the program.

To register, visit careersatmainehealth.org/pages/students. Students under the age of 18 are required to submit a signed parental consent form, which can be downloaded from the website.
