ROCKLAND — Lucille “Lucy” McDonald, was born on October 13, 1958, in Boston, Maine, passed away on June 9, 2024 in Rockland, Maine, due to a period of declining health. Lucy was a brittle diabetic.

Lucy had a deep passion for life that was evident in everything she did. She was educated in Boston area schools. She graduated from Malborough High school in 1976. Lucy had various jobs throughout her life, but mostly work in small part assembly.

In June of 1985, she married the love of her life, David McDonald, in Rockland, Maine. Their union was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect. Sadly, David passed away in 2022.

Lucy was also preceded in death by both her parents and her brother, Albert Shepherd in 2018.

Lucy is survived by her loving sister, Brenda Shepherd, who stood by her through thick and thin. She is also survived by a cherished niece, Alice Newbert; niece Priscilla Shepherd; nephew Albert Shepherd Jr; and great nephew Ryan Newbert. Lucy also left behind many cousins, extended family and special friends.

Lucy’s vibrant personality and zest for life touched all who knew her, leaving a lasing impression.

In her spare time, Lucy enjoyed watching horror movies, riding around the town, admiring tigers, supporting the New England Patriots and embracing her 420-friendly lifestyle.

She will be missed by anyone who had the privilege to know her.

A joined burial with her husband will be in the later summer.
