Letter to the editor: Owen Casas is a candidate to trust

Sun, 11/06/2016 - 2:15pm

I am writing  to openly endorse Owen Casas as my choice for Representative of Maine House District 94. I encourage my Camden and Rockport friends to do the same by voting for Owen on November 8 at the polls.  We are a small tight-knit community, and know with certainty of Owen's transparency, honesty and deep ties to Maine.

As a member of our Select Board, who is now running for a representative seat,  Owen has proved though his involvement, he is dedicated, devoted and has an agenda that is a simple one: a commitment to serve our communities, families, and all who reside here in the Midcoast. For me, the party of a candidate isn’t a deciding factor. Living in Rockport, I want a representative who “represents,”  who lives, eats and breathes Maine and all it stands for!

I know what being a Mainer means to this community, and although I am a transplant from some 23 years ago, I believe that Owen has a clear and practical vision for all Maine. We all know what the issues are, but if you haven’t had the chance to sit down to chat with Owen, please reach out and do so. I am happy I did. You will walk away with a newfound love and excitement for politics and what our community and its residents mean to Owen.  Owen is a candidate I trust, and have the utmost confidence he will represent and protect my family’s best interests, as Joan Welsh hands off that torch to Owen next week.
