On June 17 at 11:56 a.m., Lincoln County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a farm tractor accident on South Clary Road in Jefferson. Deputies responded to the area and found Shawn P. Hickey, 53, of Jefferson under his tractor. The initial investigation suggests Hickey was attaching a piece of equipment when he was entrapped by the rear wheels. Hickey was deceased. The exact cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. Det. Sgt. Ronald Rollins is lead the investigator. He was assisted at the scene by Det. Jared Mitkus and Deputy Nate Aronson. 

Jefferson Fire Department and Central Lincoln County Ambulance responded as well.
