NEWCASTLE — The Knox Lincoln County Beekeepers (KLCB) is holding a honey bee queen rearing in-person presentation Saturday, July 13, from 1 to 3 p.m., taking place at Lincoln Academy in the ATEC building.

Learn how backyard hobby beekeepers can raise and keep stock of high quality queens with traits to survive Maine winters and temperament to make it easier to work your hives.

“This a great opportunity to meet local beekeepers and learn more about the art and science of keeping bees healthy and productive,” said KLCB, in a news release. “You will have a more beautiful garden, as well as your neighbors’ gardens within a 2 mile radius of your hives. Feel good about building a connection to nature and become more attuned to our changing climate, pesticide age and natural habitat lose.”

Visit the KLCB website, https://www.klcbee.com/, to register for this event and look over some of other events taking place this summer and fall.

“We are all part of nature and we should be taking care of it,” said KLCB. “We look forward to seeing you on July 13, at Lincoln Academy, 81 Academy Hill Rd, Newcastle.”
