Kerry Jean Albano, obituary

Mon, 07/03/2023 - 7:00pm

LINCOLNVILLE — Kerry Jean Albano was born on April 5, 1951 in Waterville, and was the daughter of Lois and Russell Brown.

The family relocated to New Jersey, where she graduated from Scotch Plains High School in 1969. On October 25, 1975, she married Michael John Albano at the Manor in West Orange, New Jersey.

Kerry worked in the medical field as a licensed practical nurse for several years before retiring to be a full time stay at home mother. She worked part time as a florist in Westfield, New Jersey and eventually started and ran a cleaning business with a dear friend.

Maine has always held a special place in Kerry’s heart, and as a child, she and her brother spent summers along the Midcoast. She continued this tradition with her husband and children, relocating the family to Camden in 1989, eventually settling in Lincolnville a year later. Kerry’s love of Maine ran deep, and she showed not only her family, but invited many friends and loved ones to come visit. She would collect brochures and clip articles from newspapers and encourage those visiting to see the place she loved.

Kerry was a loving, devoted wife, mom, grammy and friend. Kerry was best known for her loving and exuberant personality. She never hesitated to offer a listening ear and support. Her family was so important to her. She devoted her time baking and creating gifts for her husband, children and grandchildren and those who became her extended family. Everything she did she did with love. She treated everyone like family and truly gave so much of herself to others. She touched so many lives near and far. Her battle with cancer was long and, at times, overwhelming; but, her strength and drive to fight was motivated by the love for her family, and the Eye of the Tiger theme songs by Survivor and Katy Perry. She has been an inspiration to all of us and will truly be missed.

Kerry is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael Albano of Lincolnville; her daughter, Jennifer Albano (Melissa) and 2 grandchildren, Jacob and Juniper of Athens, Georgia; and her son, Michael Albano (Katherine) of Auburn, Georgia.
