Busy day at the schools Monday as the midway point of the season approaches teams are starting to gel and good things are happening for many local teams.

Here are the results and scores of yesterday's games around the area.
BASEBALL
Oceanside 4, Winslow 2... At Thomaston, Michael Dougherty tossed 3-1/3 innings of 3-hit shutout relief to earn his first varsity win while Jack Freeman struck out both batters he faced with the tying run on base to save the Mariners' a victory.

Thomas Curtis had a pair of RBI singles and Riley Sprague reached base three times, scoring twice and stole three bases to lead the Oceanside offense.

Jake Trask suffered the loss for the previously unbeaten Winslow Black Raiders allowing four runs, two earned, on four hits, six walks and two hit batters, while striking out Nine. Trask and Dameron Rodrigue drove in both Winslow runs.

Oceanside received all the runs it would need in the first inning when Michael Norton, Jr walked and moved to second on a passed ball, Nick Mazurek is intentionally walked, Riley Sprague reaches on an error to load the bases, Thomas Curtis singles to drive in Norton, Jack Freeman reaches on a fielder's choice that retires Mazurek at the plate, however when the ball is thrown back to the pitcher Sprague raced home and the ensuing throw goes out of play to allowed Curtis to also score.

Next Oceanside game - Wednesday, May 11 at Nokomis with a 4 p.m. start.

Medomak Valley 13, Morse 5... at Bath, The Panthers picked up another win Monday to move to 3-4 on the season.

Offensively for Medomak, Adam Eustler (2 hits), Isaac Eustler (2 RBI), Nick DePatsy (2 hits, 2 runs), Patrick Madden (2 hits and 2 runs), Riley McCollett (3 hits, 3 runs, double, 2 RBI), Ben Turner (double, 2 RBI), Cameron Robinson (2 hits), Brent Stewart (2 hits, 2 RBI) and Channing Soper (2 RBI).

Nick DePatsy got the win, he went five innings allowing four runs on six hits and four walks. Brent Stewart pitched two innings of relief allowing one run on three hits and a walk while striking out two.

Morse Stats were not available.

SOFTBALL
Oceanside 11, Winslow 8... At Thomaston, The meeting of the undefeated was everything it was billed to be with the young freshmen team of the Mariners and the senior-laden roster of seniors for the Black Raiders.

In the end, the Oceanside hitters were just a little better while Chloe Jones did her job in the circle to go to 7-0 on the season.

Jones went seven innings allowing eight runs, on 12 hits and one walk while striking out four.

Hitting for the Mariners were Kalyn Grover(double, 2 singles, 2 RBIs), Alexis Mazurek (home run, single, 3 RBIs), Brianna Dugan (home run, single, 2 RBIs), Chloe Jones (double, single), Ari Curtis (2 singles, 2 RBIs).

In the circle for Winslow was Hillary Libby, who suffered her first loss (6-1), went three innings allowing seven runs with three strikeouts Jenna Petrovic pitched three innings of relief in the loss.

At the plate for the Black Raiders, Jenna Petrovic(2 singles, RBI), Nat Green (2 singles, 2 RBIs), Liz Pullen (2 singles) and Sarah Guimond (triple).

"This was a big win for us tonight, this Winslow team is a very good senior-laden team," said Oceanside coach Rusty Worcester. "They have tremendous pitching and hitting they have been beating teams handily in all their games. We knew we had to hit and we did. I'm very proud of this team, we recorded 13 hits off a very good team. Chloe Jones pitched well keeping them off balanced and the most important thing she did today was one walk. You can't give this team any walks or they will hurt you."

Morse 10, Medomak 6…  At Bath, The Panther girls took a loss at Morse Monday falling to 4-3 on the season.

Medomak was trailing 10-2 heading into the top of the seventh where Medomak rallied putting up four runs before being retired.

Gabby DePatsy took the loss for the Panthers pitching five innings. Addie Jameson pitched one inning.

Marissa Parks went the distance for the Shipbuilders.

Hitting for Medomak were Lydia Simmons (double, RBI), Addie Jameson (single, RBI), Gabby DePatsy (double, RBI), Hannah Watmough (2 singles, RBI), Abby Nelson (double), Josie Jameson (single, RBI) and Hallie Kunesh (single).

For Morse, McKayla Rose (2 singles, RBI), Hope Faulkingham (2 singles, RBI), Marrisa Parks (2 singles, double, 4 RBIs), Megan Stover (single, RBI), Sierra Wallace (single, RBI), Micaila Alburtuss (2 singles) and Mercedes Lang (single).

GIRLS TENNIS
Lewiston 4, Camden Hills 1... At Rockport, On a cool and windy afternoon in Rockport, the No. 1 team in Class A North Lewiston handed the lady Windjammers their first defeat of the year. Many close matches were played but only Frances Pendleton and Julia Holt at second doubles were able to win their match in three sets for Camden Hills.

Here are the individual results with Camden Hills players listed first, in singles, Jana Spieker lost to Maddie Roy 3-6, 7-6(3-7); Katie Vannorsdall lost to Alanna Taylor 1-6, 4-6; and Naomi Landry lost to Lizzy Michaud 6-4, 3-6, 3-6.

In doubles, Kelsie Merrill and Kassie Krul lost to Maddie LeBlond and Chloe Morrin 6-7(5-7), 6-4, 3-6; and Frances Pendleton and Julia Holt defeated Corinne Laberge and Sierra Melanson 2-6,6-1,6-1.

Next Camden Hills match - Thursday, May 12 at Brunswick.
