Edith Jones Baker, obituary

CAMDEN — Long time Camden resident Edith Jones Baker passed away peacefully Saturday, June 15, 2024 after a brief illness. Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, June 29, 1932 to George E. and Ida F. (Dillman) Jones of Belmont, Massachusetts.

She attended Belmont schools and graduated from Belmont High School in 1950. Edith went on to attend Boston University.

An antique enthusiast and dealer for most of her adult life, she was also an avid gardener, jigsaw puzzle builder and reader of all types of literature.

Edith is predeceased by her first husband and true love, Leon H. Jones of Lincolnville, Maine (1959); her second husband, Francis P. Galvin of Grafton, Massachusetts (1982); her sons Edward G. Galvin of North Yarmouth, Maine (2000) and Andrew W. Jones of Hope, Maine (2022).

She is survived by her son Leon H. Jones Jr. of Millinocket, Maine; her daughters, Sandra (Jones) Wiley and her husband Roger of South Casco, Maine, Jodi (Jones) Weaver and her husband Billy of Livermore Falls, Maine, and her son Timothy M. Galvin and his wife Wendy of Cushing, Maine; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Edith will be interred in a private ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery in Camden.
