ST GEORGE — Dennis “Denny” M. Darling, 76, passed away with his wife by his side on Wednesday, June 26, 2024.

Denny was born on January 4, 1948 to the late Harold and Ethel Darling in Rockland. He graduated from George’s Valley High School in 1966. After high school he started his life long career as a Lobster Fisherman. In 1998 he bought his boat Odyssey. When he was not on the water, he was restoring Ford automobiles. Denny won many awards for his restoration work, one year at the Blue Hill Fair he won all the awards for Car restoration but no matter how many awards he won he remained humble.

He married the love of his life, Andrea Jean Vasso, after being together for 26 years in 2001. A total of 49 years all together.

Denny is predeceased by his parents; step father, John Nystrom; and his fur baby, Teddy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Andrea and his son, Michael and wife Amanda of Colorado; sisters-in-law Josephine Talbot of Rockland, Pamela Vasso of Spruce Head; brother-in-law Joey Della Valle of Portland; many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends all whom he loved dearly.

A special thanks to Josephine and Pam for all their help over the years.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 1 p.m., at Burpee Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Denny’s memory to St. Jude’s or Pope Memorial Humane society.
