With heavy hearts and with our love we announce that Dana Leah Cobourn, age 87 of Rockland, passed away on August 2, 2024. She died peacefully in her sleep following a brief illness with family by her side. She was the widow of William D. Cobourn.

Born on July 22, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, Dana was the first-born child of the late Laura Blake and Lorenz Brandt of St. Louis, Missouri.  She attended the local schools and upon graduating from high school married William (Bill) Cobourn, also of St. Louis.

The couple lived in many states including Missouri, California, Nebraska, and eventually settled in the Concord, New Hampshire area. There they raised their family of five children. Throughout her time in Concord, Dana worked as a manager of several retail businesses where she became an integral part of the Concord business community. She was also very active in the local theater community. She loved art and the excitement of bringing a show to life on the stage.

Later in life she relocated to mid-coast Maine and eventually settled in Rockland to be closer to family. Dana loved her life in Maine, especially her home and her gardens. More than anything she loved sitting on her porch surrounded by flowers, her beloved dog Mickey, and a good book. She was an avid reader and would typically polish off a book in one day. She loved good food, especially the comfort food from her Midwest origins, and the great seafood from her long life in New England. Nothing made her happier than sharing a good meal on her porch with her family.

Dana is survived by her children Daphne Cobourn and her partner Erin of Seabrook, New Hampshire, Alyson Therrien and her husband Marc of Barrington, New Hampshire, Brigitte Cobourn of Newmarket, New Hampshire, Chris Cobourn and his wife Kim of Placida, Florida, and Eric Cobourn and his wife Thuy  of Berlin, New Jersey; and her six grandchildren, Noah, Michael, Emerson, Andrew, Emily, and Mia.

A celebration of her life will be a private ceremony, reflecting and remembering Dana in the presence of close family.

Donations can be made in her honor to the Humane Society of Knox County

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Burpee Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home in Rockland, Maine.
