WARREN — Cathy S. (Day) Clough, 64, peacefully reached the end of her life’s journey on August 4, 2024, of Pancreatic cancer at Sussman House.

Cathy was born September 28, 1959, in Rockland, Maine. She was the daughter of Joan M. and Edric R. (Dick) Day.

Cathy grew up in Warren and was a 1977 graduate of Medomak Valley High School. Cathy started her career as Office Manager at Rockland Leathers and continued her profession at Manset Marine Company for 20 years. She then finished her career at Fisher Engineering just shy of 24 years.

Cathy was a dedicated “barn kid”, starting at Hill-N-Dale Stables and traveling throughout Maine and New England showing her beloved horse, Rose Briar. They won many awards.

Cathy is survived by her aunt, Phyllis (Phid) Day, of Virginia, and many cousins from Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. Also remembered are Cathy’s cherished friends — Roger Peabody and Kathleen Williams, both of Warren. They have been by her side through life’s journey, along with her devoted canine companion, Wendy. The outpouring of love and support from so many dear friends has been overwhelming and uplifting. She also received many delicious meals and desserts as well as gift certificates for meals from many wonderful friends.

As all of you know, Cathy was a huge Bon Jovi fan. She loved Bon Jovi from the get go and attended many of his concerts from Maine to Connecticut. She had an unexpected encounter with Jon Bon Jovi on a remote stage in the middle of the audience at one of the concerts. She even ran into his wife and young son at a local business once. One of Bon Jovi’s latest songs, “Legendary”, really hit home with Cathy with the line “a fistful of friends” (YouTube it).

Cathy also shared a love of dragonflies with one of her best friends, Wendy Kinney. Dragonflies have had a strong presence in her life following Wendy’s passing. (Have you noticed the increase in dragonflies?)

The family of Cathy would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors at Pen Bay and the caring nurses and staff at the Sussman House for their comfort and excellent care during Cathy’s stay.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cathy’s memory to Pope Memorial Humane Society, PO Box 1294, Rockland, ME 04841.

A private burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Warren at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future. Details will be shared on Cathy’s Facebook page when the time is known.
