Students at Waldo County Technical Center (WCTC) recently had the opportunity to learn about trade opportunities offered at Bath Iron Works (BIW) without leaving campus, when BIW brought its 53-foot training trailer, Shipbuilder 1, to the CTE school for a two day interactive experience. The trailer is equipped with virtual reality training tools which enabled teens to practice welding and painting skills. 

This experience was organized by WCTC’s Extended Learning Opportunities (ELO) program, which helps the students of Waldo County find their career paths through job shadows, field trips, internships, and career placements.
