AUGUSTA — Maine State Police, working with Augusta Police, have issued an Amber Alert for a missing Augusta 3-year-old girl, who they say is, or was last known to be, in the company of an Augusta woman with ties to New York.

The missing toddler is Lenore Wilson, who is 30 inches tall and weighs 30 pounds with blond hair. In a press release, police said that Wilson is with Fatima Gissentaner, who goes by the nickname “China.”

Gissentaner is a 26-year-old black woman, described as being tall and slender. She occasionally cares for the child, according to police in the news release.

The two were last at an apartment house at 26 Sewall St. in Augusta during the night, when police and EMS were called to tend to a medical emergency of the child's mother, who was taken to the hospital. Gissentaner also may be in the company of her boyfriend, who goes by the street name "Dollar," and both are from New York.

Police said there is no information on whether the couple has access to a vehicle.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the child or the two adults should call 911, or the Augusta Police Department at 207-620-8383.
