HOPE — Geneva Pearl Hall, 90, died Dec. 10, 2015, at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport after a brief illness. Born in Lincolnville on Oct. 3, 1925, she was the daughter of Marcellus "Crosby" and Alice Eleanor (Libby) Pearse.

At the age of 15, Geneva went to work as an assistant cook at the Camden Community Hospital on Mountain Street. When the position of head cook became open due to an illness, Geneva accepted the position at the age of 20.

On Aug. 9, 1947, Geneva married Robert M. Hall in Union. In 1970, she went to work as a "cafeteria lady" at the Camden-Rockport Middle School, where she worked for many years.

Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing and hooking rugs, but she will be most remembered as one who could bake a "perfect pie." She was a member of the Union Senior Citizens and enjoyed bowling at Lucky Strike Lanes in Camden and at Oakland Park in Rockport, where she was known as the top bowler on her team. In recent years, Bob and Geneva looked forward to traveling on bus tours throughout the country.

Surviving is her husband of 68 years, Robert M. Hall Sr. of Hope; two sons, Robert M. Hall Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Hope, and Duane H. Hall and his wife, Linda, of Daphne, Ala.; a daughter, Kathleen Knight and her husband, Michael, of Gardiner; seven grandchildren, Michael Hall, Mary Fuccillo, Heather Galle, Jillian Hall, Selena Nadeau, Rachael Durkee and Travis Nowicki; many great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred O'Jala of Union, Barbara Ludwig of Hope, and Florence Beverage and her husband, Hartley, of Warren; and many nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.

Geneva was predeceased by two brothers, Basil Pearse and Donald Pearse; and a sister, Marian Leonard.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Dec. 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St. in Camden. A graveside service will be announced in the spring.
