William E. ‘Bill’ Wood, obituary

WILDCAT at ST. GEORGE — William E. "Bill" Wood, 67, died April 11, 2015, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, after a period of declining health.

Born in St. George on Feb. 22, 1948, he was the son of Donald R. and Lucienne D. Cote Wood. Bill was educated in St. George schools and was a 1967 graduate of Georges Valley High School in Thomaston.

Following high school, Bill worked several years as a security watchman with Atwood Lobster in St. George, and more recently with Bricher Lydon Company in Rockland.

For many years, Bill operated a part-time small engine repair business from his River Road home. He enjoyed flying remote control airplanes and tinkering with “one lunger” antique engines.

In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother, James “Woody” Wood in 2013. He is survived by a cousin, with whom he has resided the past four months, Mary Paradis and her husband, William, of Farmington; and their children, Andrew Paradis and his family of Massachusetts and Matthew Paradis and his sons of Farmington.

A graveside service, to be held at North Parish Cemetery in St. George, will be announced at a later date.
