BELFAST — A woman, formerly of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was sentenced in Waldo County Unified Court Aug. 8 to 10 years in prison with all but 400 days suspended for robbery, stemming from her part in the robbery of a local man.

Isabella Noui, 21, will also serve four years of probation and pay $400 restitution for the June 2023 robbery conviction. Noui was also sentenced to 60 days in jail for falsifying physical evidence, and an additional 60 days in jail for theft by unauthorized use of property.

Noui was in the company of her then-boyfriend Justin Wilmot when the incident occurred in a longtime homeless encampment behind a local shopping plaza. The two reportedly met at a the Belfast Soup Kitchen before traveling to the nearby encampment.

Wilmot reportedly thought the victim in the case had been inappropriate with Noui and decided to confront him. The confrontation ultimately resulted in Wilmot stabbing the victim multiple times.

The injuries sustained were non-fatal; however, the victim was transferred from Waldo County General Hospital to a Portland hospital for treatment.

Noui and Wilmot were indicted in July 2023.

Justin Wilmot was sentenced in February to 20 years in prison for the stabbing, though he will serve four years and six months of the sentence.
