CAMDEN — Merryspring Nature Center will hold a free program exploring owl pellets as part of its Free Family Fridays series on Friday, August 16, at 10 a.m.

In this program, families are invited to Merryspring to learn about Maine's native owls. After a short presentation about owl behavior and biology, guests will be able to open up owl pellets to discover mammal bones hiding inside. There are no live owls at this program.

Preregistration is required for this event with limited space available. Guests may sign up by calling 207-236-2239 or by emailing info@merryspring.org.

Admission is free to all. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Free Family Fridays take place at Merryspring on select July and August, Fridays at 10 a.m., and are sponsored by Camden Riverhouse Hotel.
