BELFAST — To celebrate the opening of its new Pediatrics practice, Waldo County General Hospital will hold an open house for patients and community members Monday, May 13, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Waldo County Medical Partners Pediatrics Office, located at 9 Fahy Street in Belfast.

The opening of a new pediatrics practice is part of the hospital’s ongoing investment in expanding access to care in Waldo County. For years the hospital offered pediatric care through an independent physician. However, as demand for pediatric care has grown in recent years, it became evident that the hospital would need to open its own pediatric department to ensure that Waldo County residents could receive timely care close to home, according to WCGH, in a news release.

To lead the department, the hospital hired Dr. Paul, who comes from MaineHealth’s Maine Medical Center, where she completed her pediatric residency after receiving her medical degree from the University of Queensland School of Medicine in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, in 2017.

Patients and community members are invited to drop by the May 13 open house to meet Dr. Paul and the rest of the Pediatrics staff, take a tour of the space and enjoy light refreshments. There will also be activities for kids and the opportunity to enter a raffle for a Maine State Park Pass.

WCMP Pediatrics is currently taking new patients. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, please call the practice at 505-3600 or visit wcgh.org/pediatrics.
