More and more, people are turning to Craigslist to sell, buy, barter and give away myriad categories of goods and services. Following is a verbatim sampling — typos and all — of some of the posts we found in the "free" category this past week.

Many of the posts are the usual stuff - old televisions, mattresses and furniture. This week, there were no chickens or clothes hangers being offered, strangely enough. But what we did find was a handful of pens, a ping pong table, trampoline, a "stuffed" Little Mermaid book and a set of glasses engraved with "747 Freighter Inaugural Nov. 5, 1974."

Oh, and if you've been wondering where you can learn how to trim the hooves of goats, sheep, alpacas and llamas, well there is someone in Standish offering training -- for FREE! Craigslist Maine has these and more, yes, you guessed it, free. Really, it does. Read it for yourself.

Wooden dresser, 32"H x 52"W x 19"D. Six drawers of varying sizes. Well used and no longer very pretty but fully functional. Missing one handle. Could be beautiful if reconditioned. Located on front porch in Portland. If it's still there it's yours. Bring a friend - it's heavy. Like real wood is supposed to be. Be careful on those front steps, one is a different height than all the rest.

Wicker Rocking Chair (Augusta)

White Wicker Rocking. About a decade ago I salvaged it from the dump, then got carded at Wal-Mart while buying Krylon Spray Paint to rehab it. Anyway, it turned out nice and has since served as an indoor rocking chair for both my bedroom and the baby's room. I no longer have a need for it. It is not in the best condition (see my comment about salvaging it from the dump) but it is serviceable and I've certainly see crappier furniture listed here. Did I mention it was free? If you want it, come and claim it!

Counter and Sink (Pittsfield)

8' old kitchen counter with sink cut out; laminate white with gold specks. The sink hole leaves approximately 47" to the left of the sink cut out and 17" to the right. I would say the counter is nice enough for camp, basement, workshop, etc, but you likely wouldn't want it for a kitchen remodel.

Scrap wood (Pittsfield)

I have scrap wood from a renovation project. Mostly broken or small pieces of 2x4s. Some boards have nails, but most nails have been removed. All I can think is that maybe it could be used for a bonfire, but if you can use it, you can have it.
