Another successful Watercolor Batik Workshop yesterday! Jeanne Lally walked us through the steps of applying melted wax and watercolor paint to create unique textures and add depth to our fish!

Working with melted wax to create resists is HARD! This is a humbling process that pushes the creator out of their comfort zone. That element of difficulty is what can make learning a new craft so fun! It forces you to think in a different way and train your eyes and hands to work together in a new way.

Practicing the process of watercolor batik gives us perspective on just how spectacular Jeanne’s original paintings are. She has mastered this craft and we are honored she shares her knowledge hands on with us in The Barn. You can buy her prints and cards in The Barn and see more images of her work on her Instagram page @oceanartist8
