Public invited to forum about Rockland and Penobscot Bay YMCA joint venture
ROCKLAND — The City of Rockland and the Penobscot Bay YMCA have been discussing recreational programming arrangements generated from the city budget process. These discussions have been productive, according to City Manager James Chaousis, but have taken place exclusively between administrators and managers of the two organizations.
“At this point, the City and the YMCA would like to engage the public to receive feedback regarding expectations of this joint venture,” wrote Chaousis, in a news release issued July 7. “We will consider this information when constructing future collaboration.”
The City of Rockland and the Penobscot Bay YMCA are inviting interested parties to a public forum on July 15, 6 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers regarding recreation in the City of Rockland. City Manager, Jim Chaousis, and YMCA Executive Director, Troy Curtis, will lead the discussion. Questions, comments, and dialogue will be appropriate discussion on the general subject of recreation.
