Rockland Council holds special meeting concerning City Hall sale to energy business
ROCKLAND — Rockland City Council members will hold a special meeting today, 5:30 p.m., in council chambers, to authorize an option agreement for sale of city property.
In recent weeks, The City of Rockland sought bids for possible sale of 270 Pleasant Street (City Hall) and 9 Burrows Street (Public Works Garage).
Rockland Energy Center responded to the bidding offer. Rockland Energy Center is a Boston-based company that concentrates on energy sales and management.
If the council approves tonight, City Manager James Chaousis, will be authorized to “negotiate and execute an option with Rockland Energy Center, LLC.”
If approved, negotiations will have baseline minimum monthly option payments of $1,000 per month starting no later than August 1, according to the agenda.
