Linda Reynolds, obituary
ROCKLAND — Linda Reynolds, a beloved member of the community known for her passion for cooking and dedication to her gardens, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on August 25, 1944, in Waterville, Maine.
Linda's journey in the food service industry began at a young age, working behind the lunch counter at her family's golf course in Burnham. This early experience sparked a lifelong love for cooking, leading her to excel as a line cook, pastry chef, and a successful restaurant owner. Linda found joy in her career as a chef and restaurateur for over five decades.
Beyond her culinary talents, Linda's green thumb was well-known among family and friends. Her gardens, filled with vibrant flowers and bountiful vegetables, were a source of joy and tranquility for her. She devoted countless hours to nurturing her gardens, finding solace and fulfillment in their beauty.
A true wanderer at heart, Linda was a gypsy with a thousand-mile taproot, finding comfort and belonging in her home in Maine. She had a love for travel and explored far and wide, but always returned to the place where her heart resided, Maine.
In addition to her culinary and gardening pursuits, Linda volunteered with the Unity Ambulance/EMS, offering her time and skills to help those in need. She was also a dedicated member of the Eastern Star, embodying the values of fellowship and service.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy (Clay) Reynolds and Ronello Reynolds; sister Joan (Reynolds) Stearns; brother Ronello W. Reynolds, Jr.; and her nephew, Ronnie Reynolds.
Linda is survived by her long time partner, David Larby of Rockland; daughter Charlotte Reynolds and her husband Jim Waldrop and their daughter Lucy Moore Reynolds Waldrop of Jackson, Wyoming; sister Paula (Reynolds) Piper of Presque Isle, and several nieces, great nieces and great nephews.
