Belfast Library book sale starts June 24
BELFAST — The Friends of the Belfast Free Library will once again hold the annual book sale in the Abbott Room of the library. The sale starts Wednesday, June 24, and runs through Friday, June 26; on Wednesday the hours are 2 to 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday only, current Friends members will get at a 10 percent discount.
Hours the following days are: Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome and some great bargains will be available.
Founded in 1992, the Friends membership assists the library in maintaining all of its services and encourages community support of the library through contributions of books, money and volunteer time. The Friends promote use of the library for the enrichment of life in the Belfast community. New members are always welcome. A single membership is $15, and a family membership is $20.
The proceeds from the book sale will go to the betterment of Belfast Free Library: the new teen room, programs and speakers, and the current need to the upgrade the sound and projection system in the Abbott Room.
Donations to the sale are welcome. Call the library at 338-3884, ext. 10, to determine what items are being accepted for the sale.
