Camden resident and abstract painter, Larry Kinney, will display work from the past two years at the Thomaston Cafe through March 2. A recent award winner at the Art in Maine show in Boothbay Harbor, the artist's focus is on examining emotions and what they look like as a painting.

Kinney's approach involves multi-layering to create texture and dimension, using various tools as applicators.

"Discovering painting later in life has been a gift, for which I am very grateful," said Kinney.
