Letter to the editor: Owen Casas serves

Owen Casas represents me in Rockport.

I am sixth generation from Rockportbut I had to live away in order to work. ( Sound familiar?) Keeping my parents' house, I am a taxpayer, but not a resident.  I have no vote in the town I grew up loving.  

Regardless, Owen spent well over a half an hour listening to my take on town and state issues, not to tell me what his were. You learn by listening and that is what Owen does. I can not vote for him, but he hears me, and the rest of his future constituency.  He is from Maine, which gives him the most insight into the Maine people and their issues.  I am not saying that Owen and I agree on them all, but he listens, which is what a good representative should do. 

I admire Owen's "walking the walk."  He does not merely give lip service to environment issues; he lives them  Those wooden campaign signs can be used for years and years to come and won't end up in a landfill. I admire that Owen served our country and now serves his community.  Whether it's time on the select board or cleaning up and restoring ball fields which were no longer serviceable, Owen serves.  

encourage voters to choose Owen to represent our communities and serve our beloved Midcoast.
