Keep an eye out for Tuffy in the Owls Head area
UPDATE — Tuffy has been missing since Sept. 11 when he escaped from his outdoor enclosure in Owls Head. His owners have been following up on possible sightings to no avail. They have hung numerous posters and tried to spread the word. Last Friday, a woman from Owls Head Village called with a possible sighting.
“This one really sounds like him,” said his owner, Sheryl Fogg. “ We set up a have a heart trap and did suggestions from the Maine Lost Cat Recovery. No luck. Last night we received a call from a gentleman working on Shell Street in Owls Head saying he thinks he see our kitty. That's not far from the church. Hopefully, that's Tuffy and we can get him. We're asking for help from anybody in the area to keep an eye out for him and to call me immediately if he's seen. My number is 542-0966. The picture of Tuffy makes him look darker than he us. He is gray/white and fluffy.
OWLS HEAD — The gray and white longhaired cat, Tuffy, has been missing from his Owls Head home since Sept. 11, and his owner is hoping he returns home.
Otherwise gray, Tuffy has a white bib and white feet.
Tuffy is an indoor cat but his owner, Sheryl Fogg, has an outdoor enclosure that he and his brothers and sisters visit. Somehow, he escaped from that enclosure.
“I think that's his life's mission,” Fogg said. “About four years ago he got past us from the door and we couldn't catch him. He was gone for five days then. He's always trying to escape past us at the doors. He's a curious guy. Whenever someone stops by he's right there but I'm not so sure he'd come to anyone out of his comfort zone. He's used to dogs and other cats. I also have horses, ducks, chickens, geese, bunnies and barn kitties so he is used to all those sounds. I just wish he'd come home.”
Call Fogg with any sightings, and keep eyes peeled for Tuffy, who may be hiding under garages, sheds and other buildings.
