Playing around at Thomaston Grammar School
For recess this year, the Thomaston Grammar School is enjoying a brand new playground, and students are having a blast.
They can climb, swing, spin, slide, and more. The eight-person spinner is a big favorite, as is the new two-person seesaw, overhead bridge, and climbing wall, to name a few.
The school also has new 4-square courts where four games can be happening at once.
Students can play on the playground, swing on the swings, play in the sandbox, play basketball, play 4-square, and more while outside for recess.
“A great time is always had by all,” reported Aimee Sanfilippo, administrative assistant at Thomaston Grammar School.
The school, at Watts Lane, is head up by Principal Ainslee Riley.
Thomaston Grammar School’s mission is:
“We believe that each child is unique. We have created a school environment that is safe, secure, and that addresses the needs of all students. In addition to our strong academic programs that challenge students and provide them with a solid foundation for learning, we stress the development of social skills that encourage confidence, self-esteem and healthy interactions with others.
“We have high standards for our students. We want them to have the skills to be successful in society, and also the humanity to contribute to an improved world. Please join in a partnership with us as we work toward these important goals. We strive for an excellent relationship among children, parents and teachers working together to make each year a success.”
