Letter to the editor: Mike Thibodeau works hard for us

I am writing to support Senator Mike Thibodeau’s re-election to the Maine Senate.

I have known Mike for many years. His wife, Stacy, cared for our son after-school during kindergarten. Often, when I picked up my son at their home, Mike was returning from his work day in the family construction business. Even though Mike may have been tired, he always greeted us with a smile and a few good words.

Years later, I had the privilege to serve with Mike in the Maine State House. As Representatives, we worked hard for Waldo County. I found Mike to be fair, knowledgeable and a good listener. He brought energy, enthusiasm and the right touch of humor to Augusta.

Mike went on to be Waldo County’s Senator and has done an outstanding job. In his third term, he was elected as President of the Maine Senate; a position he holds today. Even with his extra duties, Mike stays focused on Waldo County. Recently, I saw Mike at a Belfast Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event in Stockton Springs. When I asked how his day had gone, he said he had driven from Winterport to Knox to Belfast to Stockton Springs, all to meet with constituents. Mike truly works hard for us!

It is an honor and privilege to serve in the Maine Legislature. While there, I always tried to be open minded and fair. Mike Thibodeau shares those same qualities. That is why I encourage others to re-elect Mike in November.
