Free abstract painting class at Rockland Art Loft
ROCKLAND — As part of Rockland's Wellness Wednesday program, The Art Loft is offering weekly drop-in abstract painting classes. These classes will be taught by Kellie Bailey, an amateur artist who loves to use paint as a way of self-expression into the soul.
“The classes are meant to help you find your inner artistic self,” according to the Art Loft in a news release. “They are aimed to anyone who is looking for a means of taking a break and shifting into a state of mindfulness while escaping the chaos of life.”
Participants will experience moments of true peace through meditation and muscle relaxation before putting paint to paper. No painting or meditation experience is necessary. The Art Loft invites everyone to come out and experience how powerful 90 minutes of mindful art can be.
These drop-in classes will run every Wednesday at 5 p.m., beginning June 22. Come to one or come to all, but the more classes you attend, it is anticipated the greater the experiences you will have.
The first class is being offered for free to encourage people that just aren't sure about abstract art; all subsequent classes are $15/each and all supplies are included. Register online at http://artloftrockland.org/event/soul-based-abstract-art/.
