Sundog Solar launches Solarize Midcoast
SEARSPORT — Midcoast Economic Development District has selected Sundog Solar LLC to implement a regional solar bulk-purchasing program, known as Solarize Midcoast Maine. This program will make Grid-Tied Solar Electric systems more available to homeowners and businesses in 20 towns, covering five counties from Cumberland to Waldo. Sundog Solar, owned by father and son Chuck and Danny Piper, was selected based on their reputation for high-quality work, nationally certified practices and their flexible pricing approach with a variety of component choices. Sundog Solar will also be offering Mini-Split Heat Pumps and Off-Grid Solar Electric Systems at their regular pricing levels.
The Solarize program encourages community-wide participation to meet the best pricing options, streamlines the solar purchasing process from start to finish, and furthers the goal of increasing renewable energy in Maine. Sundog Solar will discuss, design and install systems with the customer's energy needs and goals in mind, and will assist with the utility company net metering and town permitting process.
Sundog Solar, in collaboration with MCEDD, will be holding a series of Solarize Midcoast Maine launch events over the next several weeks. The first event will take place in Bath on Feb 23 from 6-8pm at the Bath City Hall Auditorium on 55 Front St with other events scheduled for Rockport, Rockland, Topsham and Bowdoinham.
The Solarize Midcoast Maine enrollment period has begun and will run through June 30, 2016.
