Exhibits, biography celebrate the art of Kosti
SOUTH THOMASTON — This summer will offer a feast for fans of Finnish-American photographer and illustrator Kosti Ruohomaa.
The Finnish Heritage House will open this summer's exhibit "Kosti Ruohomaa and Maine: A Special Relationship" on June 27. Finnish Heritage House is located on the River Road, Route 131, in South Thomaston.
Finnish Heritage house is open Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from the last week in June through the middle of October and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon until the middle of December. For more information visit finnheritage.org
The Farnsworth Art Museum and the Maine State Museum in Augusta will also offer shows celebrating the life and work of Kosti Ruohomaa this summer, and a biography of Kosti by Deanna Bonner-Ganter will be published by Down East Books on July 1.
