Not-Your-Average Art Class offered in Rockland
ROCKLAND — Local artists Mark Kelly will offer an updated version of his Not-Your-Average Art Class again this spring with RSU 13 Adult Education at the McLain School Building in Rockland.
The class is open for people with all levels of experience. Kelly encourages folks to try different techniques and discuss their results as they explore the art process.
Classes will build skills and strengthen confidence as students produce unconventional works with a wide variety of materials.
Kelly, a founding partner of the former Aarhus Gallery in Belfast, is known for his images of birds, starling murmurations, found object art, and use of unique art mediums such as gunpowder and fireworks.
The four-week program will run on Wednesdays, May 6 to May 27 from 6 - 7:30 p.m.
A $40 + $10 materials fee covers all classes.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged; call 594-9764 to register for classes.
