Camden Winterfest Community Ice Carving celebration in the Camden Amphitheatre, noon to 3 p.m., featuring ice carving, live music indoors and out, hot food, kids crafts indoors noon to 2 p.m., and family winter fun. Part of Camden's Winterfest Week.
Monday, Feb. 2
Alex the Jester will bring his dazzling show to the Camden Opera House at 6 p.m. as part of Winterfest Week, hosted by the Camden Public Library and the Winterfest Committee. Tickets are free for kids ages 0-3; $2 for kids 4-12; $5 ages 13 and up; with a family rate of $15. Tickets available at the Camden Public Library, Clean Bee laundry, and the schools of the Independent School Association.
Tuesday Feb. 3
Rosalee Glass presents "The Greening of the Village: How the Village Green Came to Be" as part of the Camden Garden Club's Winter Horticulture series, 10 a.m. at the Camden Public Library. Free and open to all.
Family movie at the Camden Public Library as part of Winterfest Week, sing-along with Anna and Olaf. Free. 6 p.m. Call the library at 236-3440 for more information.

Midcoast Stroke Support Group meeting, 10 am. .at the Camden Public Library. All are welcome.
"Indoor Winter Games" family fun at the Camden Public Library, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. with Children's Librarian Amy Hand and volunteer Mark Feldman.
Thursday, Feb. 5
The Coastal Senior College will offer "The Concerto from the Age of Bach to the Twentieth Century" with instructor Marge Roberts at the Camden Public Library during Winter Session. The class will meet for six Thursdays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Thursday, Feb. 5. Registering with the Coastal Senior College is required.
Saturday, Feb. 7
Opening reception for Artist of the Month Ditte Slade, 2 p.m. at the Camden Public Library. The exhibit is titled "A Life's Work: Celebrating the paintings and sculptures of Ditte Slade." "Don't think, just paint!" she said in a news release, in creating a collection of more than 60 oil paintings and sculptures. Ditte now lives at Quarry Hill in Camden with her husband Milton.
First Annual Snow Plow Parade, 5:30 p.m. in downtown Camden, hosted by Camden Winterfest and sponsored by Fisher Engineering. Fireworks over the harbor will cap the evening at 6:15 p.m. Free.
Sunday, Feb. 8
"Madness, Mayhem, and Mass. Murder" is the topic of Richard Kahn's talk for the Camden-Rockport Historical Society's "Maine Living Series" series, 2 p.m. at the Camden Public Library. The talk is an illustrated presentation on early psychiatrists, or "alienists," and the treatment of the mentally ill in the District of Maine from the 1770s to the 1820s. The series is free.
Monday, Feb. 9
Joanna Calderwood will present "Got Stress? Hypnosis Can Help," noon at the Camden Public Library, hosted by Destination Wellness Midcoast Maine. Come hear how hypnosis is a highly effective tool that helps people create change, improve health, overcome fear and anxiety, and apply meaningful ways to manage reactions to stress in a natural way.
Tuesday, Feb. 10
Marylee Dodge, owner of the Spite House, will discuss "The History of the House and Gardens of Spite House," with the bonus of a film of the moving of Spite House by water to its present location, as part of the Camden Garden Club's Winter Horticulture series, 10 a.m. at the Camden Public Library. Free and open to all.
Regular meeting of the Camden Philosophical Society Reading Group, 4 p.m. at the Camden Public Library, open to all. The discussion will be a continuation of "Herman Melville's Equal Eye: Idealism and Metaphysics in Moby-Dick" led by David Peloquin.
The Coastal Senior College will offer "History and Duties of the U.S. Secret Service" with instructor Tom McCarthy at the Camden Public Library during Winter Session. The class will meet for four Tuesdays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Tuesday, Feb. 10. Register with the Coastal Senior College is required.
