Belfast hosts its own Holidays on the Harbor Dec. 14
BELFAST — A winter storm is brewing for this weekend, but so far it looks like the weather will be decent Saturday, when Belfast hosts its own version of Holidays on the Harbor.
Saturday, Dec. 14, Santa Claus arrives by boat at the public landing at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Harbor Tree lighting. Holidays on the Harbor at the Belfast Boathouse is sponsored by Belfast Parks and Recreation and the Belfast Chamber of Commerce, and from noon to 2 p.m. there will be photos with santa, candy canes, cookie decorating, holiday craft ornament making, games, prizes, and kettlecorn at the boathouse. Photo prints with Santa are $5.
At 1 p.m., the results of the Great Gingerbread Contest will be announced at the Chocolate Drop Candy Shop on Maine\ Street.
The Colonial Theatre on High Street is providing free family matinees of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, both at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
If you want a real classic treat, head over to Troy Howard Middle School at 7 p.m. for A Christmas Carol.”
On Sunday, Dec. 15, head back down to Belfast Boathouse, where the Belfast Area High School will be performing a Holiday Concert at 2 p.m.
And if you missed A Christmas Carol at Troy Howard Middle School Saturday, you can catch it again at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 will again be playing for free Dec. 15 at The Colonial Theatre during matinees at 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
