Patty R. Buzzell, obituary
WALDOBORO — Patty R. Buzzell, 69, died peacefully at her home, Wednesday, July 24, 2024. With her loving family at her side, she was released from the pain and suffering of her third and very courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Rockland, July 13, 1955, she was the daughter of Charles and Vivian Robinson Mansfield. Educated locally, Patty was a graduate of Georges Valley High School in 1973.
Always a hard worker, she has held many positions over the years. Most recently she could be found behind the counter at the Green Thumb Garden Center. When not busy there, she loved helping her daughter at her childcare center.
When she wasn’t working, Patty could be found shopping with her family, making crafts to give away, going to craft fairs, or reading a good book. Watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark Chanel was another favorite pastime. Always up for an adventure, she looked forward to each “girls’ weekend” with her daughters and family, no matter where the destination, she was along for the ride! Long road trips to her grandchildren’s sporting events were never out of the question.
Patty’s kind heart and giving nature made her a helper to many. She would do whatever was needed to help her family and friends alike.
She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
Predeceased by her sister and best friend Peggy Martin; her brother Charles ‘Chuckie’ Mansfield; Patty is survived by her husband, Leon Buzzell of Waldoboro; her children, Tiffany Emery and her companion Justin Hawes of Warren; Bobbi Young and her husband Chris of Warren; Robert Emery, III of Waldoboro; a step-son, Cleon Buzzell and his wife Chantelle of Merritt Island, Florida; her siblings, Charlene Wadsworth of Thomaston, Joy Struk of Warren, Scott Mansfield and his wife Darla of Rockport; her grandchildren, Alec Buzzell and his significant other Candace Godwin, Zachary Elwell and his companion Caitlin McMahon, Brandon Starr, Jaiden Starr; her great-grandchildren Emma Elwell, Ryan Buzzell as well as her ‘fur babies’, Truffles and Bear.
