WALLINGFORD, Connecticut — Ruth Copeland Overlock, 96, of Wallingford, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, at her home. Ruth was born on July 23, 1927, in Friendship, Maine to parents Stanley and Fannie (Grafton) Copeland.

Ruth grew up in Friendship and attended local schools. On August 4, 1956, she married Leslie Overlock. In September of that year, the two moved to Connecticut, making it their home.

Ruth worked at A&P Grocers as a retail worker for health and beauty for 42 years before retiring in 2010.

She is predeceased by her husband, Leslie Overlock, after 36 years of marriage.

Ruth is survived by a niece, Viola Davis (Blaine) of Friendship, Maine; and two great-nephews, Blaine Davis of Cumming, Georgia and Daniel Davis of Friendship, Maine.

A graveside service will be announced in the spring.
