Ricardo Flemeno Juco, Sr., obituary
ROCKLAND — Ricardo Flemeno Juco, Sr., 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Togus Springs VA Hospice on Friday, October 20, 2023.
Born on August 30, 1932, Ricardo married Mary Ann Flanagan Juco on February 23, 1963. The pair met in Rockland where they built their home together and resided their entire married life.
Ricardo was a well-known community member of Rockland. He faithfully dedicated many years serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus and as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. Ricardo enjoyed gardening, tending his large garden and sharing his bounty with others for many years.
Ricardo was known by many for his love of walking in Rockland, particularly on the Rockland breakwater. When his devoted wife Mary Ann passed, the first thing he did was walk the breakwater and sing. He was very appreciative of the support from and conversations with residents of Rockland on his 6–8-mile walk-abouts.
Above all, Ricardo was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and took great pride in caring for and supporting all his loved ones.
Ricardo was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Ann Flanagan Juco.
He is survived by his son, Ricardo Juco, Jr. and his fiancé Robin Jeffers; his loving grandchildren, Antonio Juco and his wife Becky Juco, Emily Juco, Ricardo Juco, III; his great-grandchildren, Samara Juco, Gabriella Juco, and Diego Juco; brother-in-law Timothy Flanagan and his wife Judy; sister-in-law Kathleen Flanagan Martin and her husband Jeff; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he loved dearly.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, November 1, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 2, at 12 (noon) at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 150 Broadway, Rockland, with the burial service immediately following at Coughlin Memorial Cemetery. A reception will be held at St. Bernard’s after the burial.
