Michael Norman Bowen, obituary
Michael Norman Bowen died at home October 21, 2023 in Summerfield, Florida, with his wife, Wendy, and friends Kristi and Laura by his side.
Mike was born to parents Norman and Charlotte Bowen on June 5,1952 in Belfast, Maine, and stayed in Maine until he and Wendy moved to Florida in 2015. He always called his Mom twice a day to check on her.
He graduated from Belfast Area High School in 1970 and was a member of the swim team throughout high school and a member of the Mason Quantabook Lodge 129 in Searsmont, Maine. He claimed to be an honorary resident of Swan Vegas, although never confirmed.
Mike had many jobs in his life, traveling the world making friends along the way. He was the third of four generations to work on Bowen’s corner; son Mike still keeps the tradition going.
Mike raced stock-cars, snowmobiled, skippered his boat the Archaic, motorcycled and chauffeured many family and friends in “the bus”. He believed in living in the moment and entertaining the room, raising a toast to just about anything.
He was predeceased by his son Gregory, father Norman and sister-in-law Karen Boguen Bowen.
He is survived by wife Wendy, son Mike and daughter-in-law Bridget and mother Charlotte; sisters Gail and husband Dave, Annettte and husband Craig and brother Brad as well as many nieces and nephews. We can’t forget Wilson and Wilma….
There will be a Celebration of Life in Belfast, date to be determined and shared. He loved and is loved by many.
