Dietrich H. Kohn, obituary
ST. GEORGE — Dietrich H. Kohn, 88, died unexpectedly at home with his loving wife by his side, Monday, May 15, 2023. Born in Germany, February 7, 1935, he was the son of Johannes and Hertha Cwalinna Kohn.
Dietrich, or ‘Dieter’ as he was known to friends and family, worked for many years as a butcher, and finished his career as the plant manager at Skanson’s Fish processing plant. Dieter was a fisherman at heart. He spent many days fishing in Northern Maine, Florida, and along the Colorado River. He also was an excellent cook who enjoyed eating his catch and making delicious German meals.
After retiring, Dieter enjoyed working on his property, keeping his woods and lawns neat and trimmed. He took great pleasure in feeding, watching, and identifying the birds that visited his numerous bird feeders.
Dietrich was preceded by his parents and two sisters of Germany.
Surviving Dietrich are his wife, Ute Kohn of St. George; his brother and his nieces and nephews in Germany and Portugal; and his friend and neighbor, Marilee Robinson of St. George.
