Camden-Rockport, Five Town CSD appoint new assistant superintendent
CAMDEN — The Five Town CSD Board of Directors has hired Maria Libby as the next assistant superintendent of Five Town CSD and School Administrative District 28. Libby replaces Russell Holden, who served in that position for one year before taking a position as a superintendent of a school system in New Hampshire.
Libby graduated as the valedictorian from Camden-Rockport High School in 1982, where she was active in sports and was a member of the 1981 state championship swim team. She graduated from Bowdoin College and taught math and science in private boarding schools in Colorado and New Hampshire. She worked in the environmental field before returning to education. In June, Libby completed her 15th year at Camden-Rockport Middle School, where she taught math for six years, was assistant principal for two years, and principal for seven years. She received a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Maine. Ms. Libby has two sons, who are now in college.
Libby will continue in her role as principal of Camden-Rockport Middle School until a replacement is found. An interview team is being formed to conduct interviews for principal of Camden Rockport Middle School in the next couple of weeks.
